ASSECWC/GOSH Professional Development Grants

The success of the partnership between the Columbia Willamette Chapter of ASSE and Oregon OSHA was once again demonstrated at the 2005 GOSH Conference. The conference provided occupational safety and health education and training for more than 2000 employees representing employers in Oregon and Southwest Washington. This premier event serves both employers and employees committed to providing health and safety education that contributes to a reduction in workplace injuries and accidents.

Every Oregon OSHA employee and ASSE volunteer who worked on the conference is recognized and commended through these grants.

The Columbia Willamette Chapter is accepting grant applications (Requests for Funding). Grants will be awarded to fund projects that promote environmental, safety and health education and training, or any other activity that is within the mission of the Society. Projects must demonstrate a direct benefit to employers and/or employees in Oregon and/or southwest Washington. A total of $30,000 is available for grants.

All projects funded with the ASSE grant must be completed by March 1, 2007.

Grant recipients must submit an update at the halfway point on the project and a final report.

One copy of any resource material developed through this grant must be made available to Oregon OSHA and the Columbia-Willamette Chapter for the free use of ASSE members and/or their employers. Awards winners will also present their project at an ASSE membership meeting and/or at the GOSH Conference.

The finished product of funded activities may not be used for the personal financial gain of any individual or entity.
